Do any of you use an evenheat and know what this is about ?

Every time I use my evenheat kiln with the rampmaster controller it does something odd. I follow the instructions in the manual exactly. Lets say I have it set to soak at 1500 for 20 minutes. It heats to temperature, the alarm tells me its at temp. Then the timer starts to count down from minute 20. When the time is almost up I look at the display and it usually reads 1500 degrees then it shows anywhere from 1550 too 1700 degrees. Then it shows the last few moments of the timer counting down. When the time is up... It reads 1500 degrees and the much higher temp. The higher one slowly decreases. That doesnt seem right. I read that as... Set at 1500 and actual temperature is something else completely. Sometimes I keep it around the temperature I want by cracking the door slightly. I cant find any info on this... Any ideas ?
Thanks!

You need to contact Evenheat. Mine never goes more above target temp than two or three degrees.

I had a problem with mine once , and called them. They helped me to fix it on the phone right then. Great people. I own 2 of them and love them. They will get you fixed right up. Scott

I also called them once and the smart lady on the phone said I had a bad thermal couple. She was right. Its easy enough to check as its right on top. Look for deterioration and/or poor contact with the wires.
