Did I fry my PID?

Sorry idk... I need it for a project tomorrow and setup didnt go well.
Aubrins SYL-1512a2 PID controller.

Here's the manual I was following... http://auberins.com/images/Manual/SYL-1512A2instruction 1.0.pdf

I took a standard power cable for a lamp, wired it to the correct terminals as it says in the manual and plugged it in...

There was a small electrical zap sound and thats it, nothing.

I'm far from an expert but it seems pretty streight forward and I cant see any way it could have gone wrong.

But there's no lights showing on the display. Is there a trick to this or is this controller toast?

You might give Auberins a call, as I've heard several times that their customer service is well above industry average. They can probably walk you through anything, or maybe send you a new one.

That said, which diagram were you following? Are you sure you had your hot and neutral (polarity) flipped the right way? Did it trip the outlet, or did you still have power?
It's really not possible to know if you fried anything based on your description alone, but it is possible.

Thanks that's a good idea i'll contact Aubrins in the morning.
The manual said the terminals aren't polarity speciffic. The outlet still works (no breakers tripped)
Just a quick "zap" sound and no LED light.

I've read and re read the manual in that link and can't figure out what happened.

i think you let all the magic smoke escape and you probably have a new paperweight. cant tell from their booklet whether there is an internal fuse. other than making sure you were hooked up to terminals 1&2, can't see what else to do. hope aubrins customer service helps

Lmao "the magic smoke escape" :p Felt like that was the case. Turns out it was a stupid little mistake. I called auberins and they took 10 seconds to figure it out. Works great now!
