Delrin and Hard nylon

Friend of mine is giving me some Delrin and Hard nylon. This stuff should work for scales right? If nothing else I can use it for spacers and practice on the mill. Any thoughts gents?

Delrin machines beautifully!!! I used to make water tight battery canisters for scuba diving lights out of it.

Cutlers like Joseph Rodgers in the UK uses Delrin on the scales of their slipjoints.

I've machined more than a little delrin. You should have no problems with it. Scales???? Might be a little slick.

Delrin (UHMW) is darn near indestructible. But it was designed for wear resistance and for its lubricity. My suggestion would be to scuff it up good, because like Springer says it’s going to be very slick if polished and especially when wet.

it’s great stuff to have and can pretty expensive to buy. it will make great handles, just don’t polish it.
