They are pinned with 2 (1/8) SS pins I never liked soldering bolsters. Did it once and never again.

About 11/4 x 11/4 x 11/2 This will give you a piece of steel 1 1/2 x .150 x 1.25*1.25*1.5/1.5/.150 =10.4 inches long.
The nice thing about this pattern is there is no waste when you make it.
With ladder and eye pattern over half the steel goes into dust and filings
