Final note in my quest for liquid nitrogen. Stopped in at what used to be called "Waukegan Welding" forever but is now totally owned by Airgas. Asked them to verify the $9/L pricing and the crabby asshole in charge said they won't dispense LN to a laboratory grade Dewar nor for a private citizen.

I have an email in to Airgas Customer Service to verify his stated policy.

Pity. Guess I'll use dry ice. Bigger pity, they're the only gas supplier around so when you need tanks filled...

Yep...the place I use stores bull semen all year round...they never even ask what I do with it. if they ever get nosey I'm gonna say, "I have a lottttt of warts..."
