Corby's

I can't imagine why it would be a bad idea, unless of course you wanted to make them removable for various reasons......

I always add a spot of epoxy to the threads when using Corby bolts. Just a little bit more insurance that they stay together. Once you grind the threads screw driver notch away you would still have to drill them out if you wanted to remove them.

I use mostly Loveless and a few Corbys. i don't see why you would chose Loctite since you aren't going to be removing then once they are ground flat to the handle material?

That said, a dab of any good epoxy on the threads is a good idea not only to secure them but to seal out mositure.

I usually spread a little extra epoxy on the threads, as well as under the shoulders to achieve the same results.

If you weren't using epoxy for one reason or the other, I'd used a dab of red loctite.

Epoxy makes a superior (mechanical) connections even better by acting as a sealer. Epoxy is critical when using pins or other non- mechanical connections because the chemical bond IS the connection.

ps All chemical bonds degrade over time.
