Converting 1962 Huppert's Delux Furnace Model 236dl 240v, 7.5a

Hi everyone. I recently bought at auction a 1962 heat treat oven (wasn't cheap). Paid $500 for it. It's really heavy and looks very well built. The temp display stopped working and wasn't reliable even while it worked. I'm wondering if I should just replace the thermo couple with a type S or K and keep using it as is or just do a modern PID conversion? There are 4 independent elements in the furnace wired as per schematic attached. Can anyone with experience chime in and let me know your thoughts?

Cheers, Gary.

I have recently purchased the same oven. I think I will use two SSR’s and one controller to get it operational. My furnace works but the meter is flakey.

I have an older evenheat kiln and the factory pyrometer is a good bit off from my PID! PID and SSR all the way!
