Yesterday was a good day. I got mail. Inside the package from Georgia was my KITH made by Chris Railey.

It is a big girl. Roughly 16 inches overall. 11 inch blade, 5 inch handle.

It came with a professional looking description that indicated all the important build items.

Chris made the Damascus pattern.

The handle is a nice chunk of maple burl. The guard is bronze.

The sheath is tight and right. Chris had to fix his stitcher. Looks to have figured it out.

Overall, it is a beautiful knife that is razor sharp. Thank you Chris. You made a killer piece. It will have a nice life here in Nebraska. My son has already called dibs for its second life. Not sure how I feel about that…

There is already an arrest warrant issued on it because it murdered these pancakes this morning.

You deserve it brother. You have helped me and many others especially on the leatherworking front. I wanted to make you something you were not likely to make for yourself. That is awesome about your son laying claim too. My boy is the same way.
 
Dennis - you did a really good write up with excellent photos of the knife 'n sheath. That is certainly a knife that will be passed not only to son, but to grandchild.

Chris - what can I say, Just another example of your GREAT work.
 
Beautiful knife - that sucker will definitely cut a serious amount of pancakes!
What a thoughtful photo review of Chris' knife, well done by all.
