Finally able to get out to shop. Floor unfrozen no more ice. Need a couple more things to finish new forge. But new chef commission in the works.

Finish sanded blade and the rough fitting for handle, guard and spacer. Stabilizing the Maple handle in Cactus Juice. Still need to bake it to cure the "JUICE"!

You got that chef knife coming along nicely. Good job on the stencil mark. Did you make the stencil also? If so, you did a good job.

As an aside here, any idea how many marks you get per stencil?

Thanks after 7 years finally getting stencils down!! No I did not make stencils I got them from Ernie who has gone out of business. I heard his kid was doing them but had no luck contacting him. I need more stencils though.

Bedded the blade in handle first time doing it worked fantastic. Polished up Micarta guard and softened tang to drill pin hole. As always the last 10% takes the most time. I was shocked how shiny the Micarta got.

Handle profile roughed in and all glued up! Getting closer!!

Chef handle all roughed in. Just need to shape a bit more, hand sand and buff. The handle is super comfortable!

Handle done, pictures don't do the Maple justice. Very pleased with outcome. Left the middle semi-flat so indexing knife would be easier. Handle is super comfortable. All it needs is a good sharpening.

All done finally! Real pleased with outcome. Some firsts on this one for me. Micarta Bolster, pins to locate, bolster, spacer and handle also bedded the handle. That worked GREAT but was a PITA!! I'll do this more but only on higher end stuff I make.
