Carbon fiber arrow for lanyard tube?

I have a few busted carbon fiber arrow shafts...they broke due to shooting a deer :)....Any reason not to use them on knives?

Here is a pic of one next to some 1/4" carbon fiber tubes I got from boss.

Just measure the outside diameter and buy a numbered drill bit one letter larger is what I do. Others get the exact letter size. I like to give a little room for the epoxy and expansion and contraction of woods.

Also wear your mask and clean up after yourself. You don't want to start building up deposits of Carbon fiber etc in your lungs.
 
Yeah I have a ton of old carbon arrows and was thinking about this, how are you cutting them???

I was amazed how thin walled the first couple were.With the band saw off I spun the arrow against the blade with light pressure took like 4 turns to cut it.I was hoping I had some thicker ones in the pile.
