Greetings everyone. I have been lurking here for a bit now, and now I think I will say hello, and offer up one of my recent builds.
My name is Travis Talboys, I live in upstate New York, and I have been bladesmithing for a bit over four years now. I mainly focus on fixed blade EDCs, but occasionally I make a kitchen knife. Today I am offering just that. A chef knife forged by hand from 1 1/8" clean, never used, high carbon steel cable. This chef knife (gyuto) has a 6 3/4" (170mm) edge, is 11 11/16" (296mm) overall. The blade has been hand sanded to 1500 grit and etched to bring out the hamon. Blade width is 1 5/8" (41mm), with a thickness 1/16" (2mm). The handle is figured walnut with dark red G10 liners and stainless steel pins. The knife comes packaged in a padded zippered pouch.
I'm asking $240 thrpugh PayPal, which includes shipping, insurance, and a warranty.
Any questions or comments are welcome, and thanks for looking.
