Was asked how fast I could make a knife for xmas , Told the friend sure it was the first weekend of Dec, I did not know that it was going to be in the single digets temps and with a - wind chill, the first blade i broke in the quanch, so i forge another out of a file.
Here what i come up with 5 in blade he wanted it pointy so i rounded the spine first half of the blade to give it the look of a double edge blade. guard it stacked mild steel with color spacers the handle is bake alight tan with some, Took the grinding wheel and sanding pretty deep into the hanlde to make it fit in the hand, The case it make from 9 to 10 oz leather hand stiched and tooled. I edge quanch the blade it warm veggy oil and etch and polished it with 230 wet and dry sand paper. i hand sanded the guard and handle up to 2000 grit but found the handle to smooth. so i went over it with 120 grit to help the grip . some gun wax over the blade and the handle to help fight rust.
