how do you get an avatar? i have looked in the user CP and i must be blind or somthing.

you aren't blind, it disappeared. I will have to look for the switch to turn it back on. wish me luck.

I am going to have to read the manual at some point but I am going to go as long as I can with out doing that.

there are three pictures you can upload.
1. profile
2. avatar
3. signature (not yet anyway)

you uploaded yours to profile, reupload it to avatar. if you can't see the avatar option in your User CP panel, that is different.
