I did a thread a while back regarding trying this product out. Unfortunately, I cannot in good conscience, recommend this to anyone. In the beginning it appeared to be promising, but I have now completely given up on using it. No matter what I have tried to do, scale still gets onto the blade. Additionally, I tried putting it on thicker like a dip, and it caused a hamon affect on my steel, and portions of the blade did not harden. I've literally only had 1 good result out of probably 7 or 8 knives at this point, and I'm basically having the throw the last one away because I couldn't tell that it had soft spots until I had gotten it ground to edge thickness and went to higher grits on grinding. Unfortunately, I'm really frustrated with the product, and I am going to switch now to Brownell's non-scaling compound. I have been given good reviews on it.

I saw a demo on Nuclayer No Scale 2000. If ever I get in the mood to try protecting from decarb again, this is what I would try.

Turco works I'd applied right. But it is pricey. I mean like $60 a quart.
