assisted open plans

There really aren't any assisted open plans. There are literally hundreds of assisted opening systems. I tend to like the leaf spring ones. What I did was go to local gun show or fleamarket and pick up a few knives and pull them apart. Don't pay a lot for them. I think I gave 18.00 for 3 knives. Remember keep it simple. The one I like is a leaf spring and a extra stop pin that is it.
 
There was an issue of Knives illustrated that showed about 12 of the most popular ones together and with the scales off. You could easily figure out how they worked just from the pictures.
I don't remember which issue it was, but it was most likely in 2009?
