As you can see from the picture, I broke off the threaded portion while checking the fit of the ferrule. I really hate to throw out the blade. Any suggestions as to how to fit this?

That looks like real tender area that will always be prone to stress being that close to the ricasso. Personally I'd never trust that blade no matter what repair is used. If I had to....I'd try the TIG first with a 1/16th wire, it's a little more surgical than a stick or MIG. Second choice would be brazing on a new tang with a long taper from the shoulder, the temps are less likely to burn the steel.

That was never enough tang for that size of blade. There should be no reason to have threads that near the blade. Scrap it. Redesign with a tang that starts out much wider and longer before the threads begin. I agree with Rudy. If it is repaired, I would never trust it.
