another prototype

just finished this little guy. 1084 , birds eye maple scales. Now it goes to the lab (our kitchen) for further testing and an autopsy. i have to see what kills it. If my wife can't then the only thing that can is kryptonite! Gentleman, start your critique engines!

It is very similar to my paring knife and I know how well that works so yours should meet expectatiins as well.

I like it the plunge lines look good to my one eye that is not still blurry. The only suggestion I would have us to set your front pin a little further back. I like the birdseye too it finished nicely.

Thanks Chris, the plunge lines did turn out nice. ( I guess my filing machine got a tune up!)
Now that I look at it , that front pin is too far forward. I have had a great deal of success with the birdseye and a tru-oil finish.

I use tru-oil too. I like tung oil but it dries even slower that tru-oil.

I've found that if you apply the tru-oil with your finger tip, (about 2or 3 drops) and rub it in, the friction from your fingertips dries it significantly faster.
