I hale from northern Minnesota upon the waters of Lake Superior. I happened to find the forums through my recent research into blacksmithing/bladesmithing. I have looked forward to getting into the art for years but never had the chance. I now am going all in and taking classes and learnign as much as I can.
 
Welcome Norseman, I think you'll like it here. Tons of good info and a lot of knowledgeable people to answer questions.
