Wayne Coe turned me on to the forums and I've been lurking in the background for a few days - nice place!
I'm KCSteve on most forums, SVD if someone beat me to that. Yep, I live in Kansas City and my name is Steve. Hey, at least it's easy to remember!
I'm not a knifemaker, just a happy idiot who accumulates knives (among other things).
Took up hand engraving a couple of years ago and I'm just about at the point of working on other people's stuff. Running slightly behind because I found out last Summer I've been diabetic for a couple of years. Eh. With my family history it's always been more of a 'when' than an 'if' thing. Only real annoyance is that for the six months it took me to lose 50 lbs (NutriSystem works but it's tedious) I didn't get any time to work on my engraving.
Ah well, got caught in a RIF (Reduction In Force) on Groundhog day so now I do have time to get back in the saddle. Good thing about being in the first round is you get the good package - outplacement services (although those have been sucking up a lot of my time) and enough severance I've got a little bit of time before I have to have a job.
Next thing I do that's worth showing off I'll post some pictures.
In the meantime, I'll be here, lurking in the background working 1
