Keepin it SIMPLE.This makes 3 variations, one shelf, 2 for handles, now its back to work.I was getting frustrated with my wood 2x4 in the vise.

Like I said, "I dont claim to be a welder, but I can get to pieces of metal to stick together."

Looks good and solves the problem of long blades.

Now, what if you combined the ideas of your first and second models? Meaning instead of flat fins welded onto opposing sides of the square tube, you could weld one round bar to one side of the square tube. That way, instead of using it in your vise in only two positions, you could have the infinite adjustability of the round bar pinched in your vise for rotation and still have an open ended tube that would allow long blades to pass through.

Man, I'm a pain, ain't I? :D
 
Ok, I went full (Wheeler) on this mod, I found a small piece of black pipe, like he uses, it works nice. Now its back to work.
