Aluminum quench plates

What size of plates are you all using and where are you purchasing them?

i use 1” thick x 4” wide x 16” long

i think i got them from here (USA KNIFEMAKER)

mine are 1 1/2" thick, 8" x 14"

Mine are 3/4 thick x 3 x 12 from eBay.

Inch and a quarter by four and about 16 inches long. Scored them on ebay because I did not know Boss carried them.

Thanks guys. I did not realize Boss carried them either. eBay can be cheaper but I really don’t like buying on there.

3/4" thick is about as thin as I would use. I use 1" thick and shoot compressed air in the gap when pressing.

mounted horizontal instead of vertical as the picture shows with the plates fastened to the vise.

I found some locally. 3/4x4x16
