This knife is a hidden tang in 3/32" CM154 stainless steel with a 400 grit satin hand finish. The mirror finished guard and pin are 416 stainless. OAL is 8 1/4" with a 3 1/2" blade. This knife was designed around this piece of African Blackwood handle material. It came to me in a box of wood that I purchased from the estate of Josh Amerine, a knifemaker in Sweetwater, TX who passed in 2010. As I've said in other places, I'd much rather use materials with a story. Another noteworthy feature of this knife is the contoured guard. My new grinder has a small wheel attachment, a critical piece of equipment for contouring a guard like this and for making the finger groove nice and round. Fit and finish are great on this one.
