A2 steel



Hey i was just woundering if anyone has any experiance using a2 steel for knife making. Im finishing up my second year as machinist student and have use of some cnc mills and heat treating facility. so if any one has milled and heat treated a2 and has any tips or pointers let me know thanks

I am so NOT a knifemaker so keep that in mind

I have made several hunting knives from A2 and it worked great

bark River uses ALOT of A2 in there production line, and it is top notch

A2 is a well-rounded steel for most uses, does not really stand out with any particularly strong or weak points.
