A knife for my daughter

I started on a knife for my 10 year old daughter a few weeks ago and finished it this week. She really wanted it done so she could help butcher hogs on Friday.

The blade was made by stock removal out of 52100 from Aldo. It is 5 3/4" long with a 3" handle. She chose maple with purple G-10 liners for the handle which was finished with Tru-oil. She helped in the hand sanding of the blade to 800 grit.

Nice Gene! Tell how she liked it for hog butchering.

Thanks guys. She couldn't wait to use it and jumped right in skinning with it.

She's pretty proud of it and let everyone know she helped on it.

I think it's pretty great she's pitching in so young. Hard to find ones that will anymore.
