Have you got a knife done with handles on and find something on the blade that needs a little more attention but now that the handle is done find it difficult to hold the knife without wraping it in leather and putting it in the vice. I had the same trouble with one knife, so came up with a simple fix for the problem
Using the blade polising board as a starting point.
I made this tapered block with a leather hoop and a similarly tapered slow wedge for under it and a leather covered batton to go between the polishing board and the handle
When the handle is in position on the protective leather covered batton and in the leather loop the slow wedge is slid into position which then holds the knife handle very securely without damaging the finished handle. This knife is one of the 4 from the chef set I am currently working on so it is just in the press for demonstration purposes. The blade is finished and poilished so I hope there is no need to use the finishing press for real but when I made it a few weeks back it was because there WAS a blade that needed a little after finish attention.
