Nice looking knives. Does the acid etching help to keep the rust down? I just started making knives and am working with W2.

Pretty damn good work on the grinds on that 1st one pictured. What kind of handle material is on the second one down? I've been working at grinding a few knives myself, but my grinds aren't that consistent yet. I'm sure part of it is the grinder I'm using, and part of it is the lack on "grind time" I have.

Thanks for posting,

I love what you do with acid, blue and tumbling. These knives look great! If you are going to etch and then blue a knife what prep do you do on it before you blue it. When it comes out of the acid etch it is pretty black and covered with some stuff that behaves kinda like "soot". Do you remove that stuff - if so , what is the prep process. Thanks,

Hey guys, sorry been busy. the handle material is from Tom Stone at Beyond wood products. It is a custom poured resin. He's on the web, so a quick Google search would find him. If you purchase from him, please let him know I told you about him. He is a good guy to do business with. great customer service. good guy.

The process on the stone washing is simple. I use vinegar ( hot) to etch. I wash off the blades to get the black soot like stuff off, might need to use 0000 steel wool. I do a few coats of cold blue. I have an 18lb tumbler i bought from harbor freight, with 10 lbs of ceramic media. 2 cups of water. i but the blades in there and tumble 20 minutes to 1 hour. i check them every 15 minutes, to make sure they are not stuck together while in there. pull them out, dry them off and spray down with WD or gun oil.

thanks for all the kind comments guys

here is another one with Beyond wood products custom scales

Some place I heard that if you put a bolt and nut through one of your pin holes the blades won't stick together. just an FYI
