The mailman surprised me today with 2 creations from Andrew Takach. We had traded my wood and Elk antler for his knives and he sent me a drawknife for taking the bark off the hiking sticks that I make. It's just the right size for small rounds of saplings.
I had given him a rough outline of a Elk handled hunter I wanted. I selected the antler because of a great handfeel. The result is this beauty in forged 1084 steel 3/16" thick with stainless guard and buttcap. The hamon is very pronounced and crisp. The fit and finish are topnotch. Andrew is a very talented knifemaker and I'm glad we traded!
