8" chef knife,my first

I made this 8" chef knife for a customer,it is my first attempt at this type of knife.
The blade is Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel @ 60Rc,3/32" at the spine,.010" at the edge before sharpening,flat grind to the spine. The handle material is ipe wood with stainless corby bolts. the blade finish is bead blasted.

That's a beauty Calvin ! I think the Ipe was a great choice

I'm working on my first Chef right now too. Sure is fun doing giant flat grinds on thin stock :)

What a great looking blade! Ipe (ironwood) is one of my favorite woods and I use a lot of it. Your stencil looks great, by the way!
