I think this will be the last knife I post as a sequence. I'm just going to post knives that I think are better fit and finished than any I have done before. It seems like I end up with some little glitch on every knife completed. My dad always said "If it ain't spiders it's piss ants"; that really seems to fit here. He also said that" life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you deal with it." On this knife I got the blade and bolster finish perfect mirror - not a visible scratch. I taped it off with Duct Tape to protect it while I fit and finished the handle. Got a really good finish on the Flame Maple (it really pops). Took the tape off to clean it up and sharpen it and damnit if there wasn't a small rust line on the blade where one layer of tape overlaid the other one. Of course it slightly etched the blade so I would have to refinish the whole thing to get rid of it. Another knife completed and another lessoned learned. Anyway, here it is:
