Almost certainly epoxy resin. I couldn't imagine how frustrating it'd be to carve the scales to match the file work!How did you bland the spine pattern into the wood? Did you colour match the resin? Or carve the wood to fit?
Yes, indeed, I used epoxy to fill in the gaps and have a blue spacer material there as well. Sometimes I'll try to remove all epoxy so it's an open area around the vine or you can color the epoxy as well and that looks cool for some folks.How did you bland the spine pattern into the wood?
