Hello Everyone,
It has been a long time since I posted anything with a blade. I have been trying to get the creative juices flowing again. I have gotten a local collaborator to help with one sword, and Charles with the other. So, I needed a break from swords for awhile, and wanted to make something just for the fun of making it.

This is the result of the fun thing:
800 layers of w2 and low manganese 1075 from our friend Aldo.
This mix can give a wicked hamon and cool grain structure/hada (the digital heat treatment kiln really helps).

Anyway, take a look. I really like making this design. I am going to play around with other similar ones because I need to sell some stuff to buy supplies. My economic life changed drastically, and I need to start selling knives so I can restock the stuff needed to make swords (and also finish some of the darn swords and send them on their merry way).

I hope you like.

comments are welcomed, tips, advice, whatever.

Hmm, the blade looks real nice kevin . Hamon is very cool . The copper bolsters are nice also . How have you been ??? Bubba

thanks bubba.
things have been bad around here. I am getting a divorce. Long story, but the short of it is my soon-to-be-ex wife has a tumor on her brain/pituitary gland. It is not life threatening, and has responded to treatment. The problem is, these kinds of tumors can lead to behavior and personality change. She is not the woman I married, anymore. It is really bad luck. We are done. That's why I haven't been online. I haven't had the energy or creative desire to go into the shop.

Anybody know a good woman that wants to date a college prof and bladesmith?

Very sorry to hear of your wife's health issues and subsequent marriage problems. Will keep in prayers.

Don't worry about finding a new wife- knifemakers are chick magnets- just don't let them know you are a professor-

:shush:
