Quick question: I am making neck knives to be used around water and don't know how to deal with SS yet. I am using 1095 steel. My plan is to CeraKote them. Does anyone have experience CeraKoting Knifes and the outcome? I do CeraKote Firearms with great success.

I use KG Gun Kote and it works fine. CeraKote is a similar product so it should work. Just make sure your prep work is good but if you coat guns you know that already.

I had a buddy cerakote a couple of my knives a few years ago...make sure they have a nice sand or beadblasted finish and you are good. Curing is usually between 250 and 300, so depending on your original hardness you might want to replace one of your temper cycles
