1084 Hunting Knife

I've had to walk away twice (can't get the guard right) from the Dion damascus bowie build and it's really getting to me, so I decided to grind a piece of 1084 that was on the bench. I've found it better to walk away and take a break when things get frustrating (even a day or so).

This is sanded to 600 grit with one 20 second etch. Not to sure if I'm going to do any more sanding or etching on the blade at this point.

Man, that's nice!! I'm really a fan of your hamons. Some of the best I've seen. Would you be interested in doing a tutorial on your process?

I’ll be glad to. Some of my steps go against most advise I’ve read but so far it’s worked for me.

Wow- that is a nice hamon! And only 20 seconds in the FC to get it to pop?
Yes. I rubbed it down with honing paste but that’s it. This batch of 1084 came from AKS and it’s produced some nice hamons.
