1075 with Hamon

I decided to try my hand at producing a hamon, so I forged this out of a piece of 1075 from Aldo.






After 3 etches, I'm still not happy with it. I used Mother's mag polish on it and maybe went to far and created shiny spots on the blade. I'm going to go back and resand with 800 and etch it again.

I think the line looks good. Did you use clay.

I used a furnace cement. I was expecting the line to be more erratic and lower in the blade with how I had the cement on it. I'll have to do some more experimenting on more blades.
