Price wise the 105/206 is a better buy with no filler. does the filler make that a better bond?

From what I can see is the G/flex 655 just a little thicker than G/flex 650?

I agree the J- Flex belts are what work the best for hanging over the edge of the contact wheel. Thank you. Brent

Yes I have tried hanging the belt over the edge of the wheel and didn't end up with a good result. I even tried that with a file guide attached to the blade still not the result I was hoping for. I am hesitant about a radius I don't want to ruin an expensive contact wheel. Thank you for your...

I have just started to hollow grind and am having trouble with my plunge lines. I see on some of the instagram pages that I visit it looks like the contact wheels have a radius on the outer edge. If I am seeing this right, what size of radius do they put on their contact wheel? Brent

I am starting to make knives with guards is there any problems that occur using 416 stainless with 1084 carbon steel? I didn’t know if there was any chemical reactions that would occur long term.

Thanks for everyone's input. I think John hit the nail on the head. I was not getting a burr, I went back to square one and double checked my burr. I have the first one sharp. You guys are great thanks for helping a novice out. Brent Milner

Yes I can see the burr I use a set of magnifiers to look at the edge. I just finished a 9 inch disk grinder with a VFD maybe I will try a coupe of old knives that need sharpening. Then give it a try on one of the ones I made. I'm going back to the shop to give that a try.
