Seeking Input on Woolly Mammoth Tooth Handle

I still stand by that Turnage video. I really didn't find working with the mammoth tooth all that difficult after watching. Good luck! Oh, and I do have some mammoth scales from HHH, they are beefy!!! He cuts tthem himself, and makes them pretty thick. I still haven't use his yet, but...

Seeking Input on Woolly Mammoth Tooth Handle

Fine Turnage mammoth tooth. Google it, and buy his video for working with the stuff. I did, and it REALLY helped me out. I did not encounter one issue and it turned out well. Also, invest in paleo bond. Google that one as well. I used it as I worked the tooth to keep everything from...

What's going on in your shop?

Yeah, I didn't sink the pivot hole enough, I need to finish that. But no offense taken! In hindsite, I think no sinking would have been best. But I still dig it. Sent from my XT1565 using Tapatalk

    Evenheat kiln.

Jawjacker, that's how I looked at it. I'm not constantly making long cutting tools, but I'd have it if I wanted it. Sent from my XT1565 using Tapatalk

    Evenheat kiln.

So, I'll finally be retiring my home made heat treat kiln and ordering a even hear with the tap pro. I was going to go with the 18 over the 13. The difference in cost is minimal. But for those of you in the "know," what's your opinion? If you were going to drop 1200 bucks on a heat treat...

    G-10 liner trouble

I always use my dremel to rough up the mating surfaces. Then I use my gorilla glue epoxy and clamps, let it sit over night, and never have issues. Sent from my XT1565 using Tapatalk

    Mammoth tooth inconsistency.

Well, the mammoth tooth worked out pretty well. I plan on using it again soon. The Turnage DVD is worth the money, it was a huge help. That and paleo bond, someone will do just fine if they want to give mammoth tooth a try. Sent from my XT1565 using Tapatalk
