I like the design! I know a lot of makers like to see the tang about 3/4 the length of the handle if possible. Having it a little wider wouldn't hurt anything either. That being said, as long as everything is tight and solid, it should hold up just fine.

Frank, Not that my opinions carry much weight but, for what it's worth, I always point people to this thread when questions of hand finishing arise. I've used Mobil 1 on every knife since I read your tips here.

VERY nice, Sam! I picture a Ron Best style full integral personally :) . Have you found that file yet? I was looking for one a while back to give .25"/4 lpi for handle materials, but gave up.
