Uncrate and examine your shipped equipment before you sign the acceptance paper!

I thought I would pass on a big mistake I made that may save someone the problem I was faced with by accepting shipment of a crated band saw without opening the crate and examining the saw before I signed the shipping release form. I ordered my saw on line for a $500 savings with free shipping...

Bruce Bump, MS ~ "Eastwood" Bowie

This is one of the most beautiful knives that I have seen. It's size enhances the beautiful art work of the knife. To see a large knife that has such art work is a feast for the eyes and a gateway to the soul. Great work!! Grizzly Bear

    Safety Gear

Doomtooth, I just ordered this full anti-fog face shield and was reading all the questions listed by Amazon and saw that you can peel off the blue film if you want to. The film is there to give the face shield more scratch resistance. I hope this helps. Grizzly Bear

The business end of Knife Making

Smitty, would you mind giving me the name of a good insurance company and how much to get and how much it would cost? I know this is pretty personal, so if you don't want to answer, that's ok with me. Thanks for your help. Grizzly Bear

Scott I am going to modify my grinder with a stand that I can use both standing and sitting. I am going to use a hydraulic jack under the table to raise and lower it. I don't know if it can be done or not but I am going to try. Someone that is a metal worker should come up with something like...

Scott sorry to hear you are having problems in your recovery. I need knee surgery too (63 years old/243 lb.) but I told my doctor that I would hold out for as long as I can without the surgery. I am a cissy when it comes to recovery. I had many months of rehab after my stroke three years ago and...

I think I was in error about Fossil Rim having too many Sambar, upon reflection I think they may have been Red deer, a cousin to Elk. It's been a long time since I have gone to Fossil Rim. Grizzly Bear

    handle material

Good Morning Gunsmith3502, I found you some good Sambar Crowns from Culpepper Supply House. The web address is www.knifehandles.com . You may want to use Sambar instead of Elk. The core of Elk and Deer are not as dense as Sambar. Sambar is the best choice in my opinion. They usually have a...
