Thanks Mike, I will let her know about Worthers. I will have to research them to find out where to call but if she has not already sold it that would be a great option. I appreciate you letting me know about it. Bob

    Nobody likes lockbacks?

I have looked around a lot here and find very few lockbacks. Why do so few people make them? When I started investigating making folders everyone said that liner locks are easier to make; Is that the reason so few make lock backs? I prefer lock backs in general and wonder if others just...

Thanks for the donation and the vote of confidence Wayne. We are gathering a decent little check for her. Nothing spectacular but a decent amount anyway. Knifemaker estate sale

As of now there has not been anyone offering to buy the entire lot. This is unfortunate because she really needs to get this sold and the longer the wait the more likely it will be difficult to sell. There was one person very interested but I think he backed out due to his inability to get the...

Anyone know about old pianos and if the keys are ivory?

Interesting to know some of this stuff. WOW, could you imagine the power stored in a piano. It does not look like there is that much stored energy just sitting there under tension for all those years.

How do I install a torsion spring

Steve, the ones I have see are placed into the liner with the horizontal tail in a slot on the liner and the vertical part going into a hole in the blade. To load the spring you put the blade onto the spring and turn it until it is in place and then put it on the pivot and put the lock in...

Andy, it all helps man. It adds up and she can use whatever we can get for her. She will have to pay someone to make the repairs so it will cost her a bit more than if Bob was still around. It is times like these I wish I had a bunch of cash so I could buy the shop and send some people over...

    Knifemaker estate sale

Randy, Even at that distance it would be worth the trip in my opinion. Murph, Pooling would be a good idea but a hassle if everyone was far apart. I really wish I had the cash, I would sell what I did not need and keep the stuff I did. You could probably make some money that way.

Went to see Gracie today. Very nice lady. Below are a LOT of photos. I kind of jumped around just a bit but everyone should be able to follow the photos. Gracie and I have a little different opinion on what a LOT is. The hand tools, wrenches and such are not as much as I thought there...
