CLP; best oil I can find. I put it on all my carbon knives, I like to clean my knives from time to time depending on how much use they get. After cleaning they always get a thin coat of CLP. Sean

I guess gummy might have been the wrong word, its not like grinding 300 series, but it is different from the ATS.

Ive never used 440C, but had a nice bar given to me. Im making a knife to give to my mentor. Is it me or is it a pain in the rear to grind? I always use 10XX and for stainless I use ATS34. Anything I can do? You out there Mike?;) Sean

Cool!! KITH pics already. Thats going to be a great looking knife. As for the design, IMHO stag is done to death. I would go with a frame and to me that knife would look great with some spalted maple or buckeye burl, anything with alot "movement". Maybe a lazy "S" gaurd. Sean
