    Anybody use ocillating spindle sander?

I've had an oscillating spindle sander for quit a while, but I upgraded to this. A combination of both spindle and belt. I use it for the same stuff, but I can get the tops of the handles perpendicular, too.:D 2thumbs I use it a lot. $199

    Getting Scales Flat

The problem I've found with 4x36" Belt Sanders is the "platen" under the belt is never completely flat. I used JB Weld to attach a flat piece of steel to it. Mark your measurements all the way around your scales and watch carefully when you sand. It may be best to use an older 120 grit belt...

    Belt Question

jcullen asked about the importance of belt direction but I've got another. Those of you that split your 2x72 inch belts in half, how exactly do you do it? I've asked this before on a different(across the Pond) Forum, but never got a straight answer. Now I'm at the point on a couple very...

    pinning steel bolsters

I got a Tapered Reamer from Tracy after my last(actually first) bolster attempt. Lookin' froward to trying it. But I also had a problem with the JB Weld coming out around the pins when I attached the bolsters with it, before smashing the pins.

Lignum Vitae? Heaviest/Strongest wood I've seen

I wouldn't be pleased about that either. And I wasn't suggesting Ray would use scales/wood that wasn't dry. As I said, it can be difficult to tell when Lignum is dry.unsure

    Knife # 6 almost

The "finger grooves", darci. That second one might be a bit uncomfortable. I doubt that's a "3 Finger" handle. That's kinda what it looks like. Other than that, maybe thin the handle a little bit, but if you remove that finger groove, it just might do it, Nice knife!!! 2thumbs Keep n...
