Is your drive wheel domed? I had this issue on my build, fixed it with tension wheel alignment. Even with the tension wheel cocked if I had big belt tension the grinder would track perfect in forward, then in reverse would almost run off.
I know this is not TEFC but for 50 bux I could build a filter box on the end maybe?? what do you think?? it is 3 phase.

I've also built decks and porches with trex and TT. this stuff is a little different, they use this to build outdoor furniture. This looks like its made in forms from resin its very dense no wood chip or glue. I'll cut some and get a close up.

I haven't picked up any eye protection for my HT operation. I got to thinking I'll try my welding helmet on grinder mode, worked very nice. EZ on the eyes.

What I do is tilt the platen away from me and I made a jig and guide to hold the blade and run in reverse just seemed safer. Cutting the belt was my main concern.
Those of you who use a grinder to sharpen, what direction is your belt traveling and why?
I always have used away from the cutting edge. lately I have noticed more and more toward the edge. What am I missing??
