What's going on in your shop?

This AEB-L petty matches the santoku from the koa knife block set I posted last week

Ya know what grinds my gears?

Belts that should be decent leaving marks on finished flats! My 80g cubitron2's do. The 120g don't. Fricking annoying!

    Plan ahead!

Sometimes when you fill an order it's good to look down the road. I took an order for a santoku with a counter top block. I thought it might need companions. A 3 place block. The customer left with a matching paring and called an hour later and ordered a petty all koa..

I have noticed you were. I get over there occasionally. I get to Bruce Bumps once in a while. I was there several weeks ago for a Blue Mountain Blacksmith Guild thing. We twisted a custom handrail of 1 1/4" solid bar. If you get this way come visit.

    A forging tip...

I use that as an anti-decarb coating on carbon blades. Works well.

That park is still there. I lived in Kennewick for years. Now I'm west of the Richland Wye on top of the hill. Lots of different colors for sure.

You must be familiar with this area! But no, I bought it from a guy who drug it out of the desert.

Thought I'd share a picture of some ironwood I cut up. The rough is sitting on my pickup tailgate.

    Heat Treating Blade fixture

I took a 2 inch piece of flat bar, drilled some holes it it and welded some cut off 1/4 inch bolts in it. Does the same as the fixture and the uprights don't come out.

    Grizzly G0704 Mill Tool

Ed, my er25 collet set has 14 collets from 1/16 to 5/8". I use the 1/16" to clamp a #55 drill for detents. I use them for all my folder drill sizes #55 through #41. The 1/8" will grip the 30 and 31. Not saying all drills will fit, but the only one I've tried that wouldn't is a 9/64. I use...

    Grizzly G0704 Mill Tool

That's a good solution for the r8 collets. I changed my G0704 to ER25 collets and love them. I never have loosened the draw bar since.

Who is using a HF Metal cutting bandsaw?

This! But the 4x6 is less picky than a porta band. I have both and use the porta band most but if I make a mistake doing layout I switch.

Question for those running a KBAC 27D.

I have two Bader 3's One DC the other VFD 3 phase. I much prefer to grind on the 3ph. The DC doesn't seem to have the same speed even though it has a 6 inch drive wheel while the 3ph has a 3 inch drive wheel.

    Saving sanding belts?

Those who grind with my belts get to use the not fresh belts also. If they get a really good set of bevels going I break them out a new belt/belts to finish with.
