I worked the stainless damascus justy like any stainless blade. I didnt really notice a differeance until I etched it and saw the pattern.

With Peters I dont thinl you will have a roblem I have never gotten a wrped blade fron them even on my thinnist piece. They take great care and make sure everything is straight before it is sent back to the customer. So you could go either way.

It wasnt bad. I laminated a piece of 1095 in between just to make sure it had a good edge.

Here are my first two hawks. One forged from a 24 oz ballpeen and the other from a file.

Wade were do you get you brass tacks from. I have been looking and cant find any. Also what is it you have on those feaathers? Is that wire or some sort of feather holder? I would like to learn more about that as well. I am in the process of making my frist two hawks and need some materials.

I know what you are talking about and that is why I now use the spindal sander for this type of sanding. But if you do not have one what you want ot do is simly aply less pressure when sanding these areas. it takes a little more time but you dont have the demples and gouges form the belt weld.

Ok so I bit the bullet and got a table at the blade show. I am now looking for somewhere to stay. I normally stay at a friends house in Atlanta but decided not to this year as I just feel as if I am using them when I am there. Where is it that most people stay when they go down? Any suggestions?

Does anyone have a round piece of bronze. I need a 1.25" piece of 1" to 1.25" round stock and hate to buy a foot long piece for that. I found a site that would sell it by the inch but shipping is a standard $15.
