T Just my 2 cents here so .... I would alternate between vac and pressure. OR if you're not set up to push pressure yet I would try pulling a vac let it sit for an hour or 2 then release and pull again. The best IMO is when you can pull / push within a short period of time. I like pressure...

Its the countertop stuff. Its pretty tough but more brittle than some of the other synthetics. Sands and buffs well. Heres an old pic I had.

I used potassium permanganate, and it looks purple when you mix it with water, but it turns the horn dark brown.... Probably some caution to be taken with that stuff too. -Larry

Box elder is in the maple family.........yes. I like the red, but I will take the pure white stuff 10 times over..... Jason send me all the pure white stuff, and I will send it in to get it dyed red and black..........WAIT does that make any sense...........HAHAHAHAHAHA. Larry

A little word to the wise on ironwood ....Olneya Tesota. Theres a seller out there selling some Central American burl (big slabs) and claiming its Desert Ironwood. Well it's not. Its also been put up for sale on some of the boards and called "ironwood".... and resold......again as ironwood...

I have done it many times. It does turn very well. Obviously harder than reg wood but turns well. Of course thats assuming it was done by a professional. (WSSI/KG) -L
