Mine has a bit of a fiber pattern to it like a linen micarta. I really like the look of it. I bought mine in a .125 thickness and i polish the liner before I glue it on so a little bit of light gives it a nice glow. I finish mine up to a 600 grit on the grinder and then a bit more hand...

Great thread. I am sure we all feel like we can't get a good grind to save our lives at one time or another. I went 2 solid weeks of daily disasters. Then I woke up one Saturday and ground 5 good blades in a row. I can't explain it.

Thanks Bill. I may have the oppurtunity to play waith a 110 before I purchase. An electrician friend of mine may have an idea bout 220 in my shop so I am going to see how that plays out over thenext few weeks. And I cringe every time I see photo, HellGap. YIKES!

I was afraid of that. But good to know for sure, Ed. 220 in the shop is not an option so I need to come up with an alternative. I may just give the soldering another attempt. Soldering stainless can be a real chore. JR

Hey Craig, I wanted to ask you about spot welding. I only have 110 in the shop and I see that the spot welders vor this voltage are limited to 1/8 material. I am using 1/8 SS for my bolster and .040 SS for my liners. Do you think that the 110 would work OK on this? Can you give me a call...
