    Anyony using Kirinite for scales?

    I don't know whether the acid would stain or not, but I've had good luck doing touch up on damascus by taping up the handle, and using a q-tip dipped in the acid to "paint" the acid on. I've also used those blue shop towels and wiped the acid on when I needed to do the whole blade.

    I've had good luck using this same process with minwax finishing wax. Glue comes right off of blade and scales.

    Grain sealer

    I'm wondering about using a grain sealer on some of the more porous woods. I primarily do a true oil finish, and don't want to affect the depth that comes with the numerous coats of the true oil. Any suggestions? Thanks

    Brass guard question

    Thanks Ed, Should have added, I'm refurbishing an old bowie. It's full tang and has an s shaped guard. Am using the old guard as per the customer.
