Finished this one up last night. Alabama Damascus and Ram's horn. Orange liners and brass pins. Made a new Damascus etch tank.

With turkey season coming up I made a knife for a turkey hunting cousin. Steel is 8670. Handle is Mississippi black walnut. Mosaic turkey pins with orange and white liners. Laser engraving.

Finished up a knife for my nephew. He’s a hog hunter and hunted them so much they nicknamed him “Swine”. Fine young man that I’m very proud of. 1084 steel with ivory snake handle. Red liners with silver pins. Laser engraved spine, sheath and name.

Yeah, there are kinda spendy. It will be used on more than just knives. I'm retiring in a few years and I'm also a gun nut. This is where I'm heading. Gun engraving.

I bought a 60watt MOPA M7. Being a fiber laser it doesn't require Cer-Mark to mark or engrave steels. It can also produce a wide variety of colors on stainless steels. Diode lasers will need Cer-Mark or some other work arounds to mark steel. I have an XTool D1 diode laser for other projects...

Been out of the shop for awhile remodeling the house. Bought a 60watt fiber laser and just now getting a chance use it. First knife of 2023 and first with a laser maker's mark. Some tests run on the laser.
