    Has anyone tried laser cutting

Ed, the reason some of us have used laser is cost. I can get a sheet of knife steel lasered for half the price of water jet. Then, there's shipping to consider too. I found a laser guy local that does pretty good work, but the only 2 waterjet shops I could find acted like they weren't interested...

    Has anyone tried laser cutting

Can't speak for Ti, but I have had knife blanks laser cut a few times. I don't think you will be much happier with the laser, my parts still often have a draft or angle to the cut. Holes are bigger one side than the other. And, the laser hardens the blade steel around all the cuts which is a...

    Dry ice bath tub

I did almost exactly the same. I also found out the the first time I tried pouring acetone into the loaf pan out of a 1 gal metal can how quickly foam disappears. Just had a little gurgle and chug and dripped some on the end foam. Wiped out a 3 inch square area of foam! I even had aluminum tape...

Adhesives for holding "Glass" to platen

Do you think you just built up that much heat? My JB Weld has been holding the glass on for a couple years with no issue. But, I don't typically do extended grinding sessions, mine are usually one a time. My platen barely even gets warm.

In years past, if someone just goes in and comments "bump" it puts them all back in the "What's New" list. Personally, when I drop by the forum, that's what I always click, I just check the what's new.

    My shop is collapsing...

8000 sq. ft total? That's a gigantic shop! Sounds like more than you could handle by yourself to me. If the sidewall of the basement is buckling in, you might be able to weld up a couple 45 degree braces, bolt them into the concrete with some good anchors. At least stabilize it from getting worse.

Trying to gauge interest in a new sharpening/de-burring tool

Good idea. I use my little granite surface plate for that kind of work a lot, but it's always a hassle holding the paper on it. I use adhesive back rolls for some of the coarser grits, but there's limited options on the high grit paper. I don't like to put feathering adhesive on the granite...

    Hedge post

I've had bugs get in the limb portions before when cutting firewood. They don't seem to affect the big trunk pieces really. I'd say strip it if it comes off easy, but it's probably not worth a bunch of extra work. I've got a bunch cut and stored inside for projects, I love making stuff with it.
