The Knife Dog branded Paragon forge arrived Friday evening. Messed about with it a bit yesterday and spent the wee hours this a.m. watching youtube vids of it's control panel. Stainless san mai and W2, here I come!

I too, used that cart when I was using the one Atlas mini. When I built my bottle forge, I put both forges on the bigger, black HF cart. It allows me room to carry one 30 lb tank and 2 twenty lb tanks underneath. Self contained so I can store it out of my way in my tiny shop and roll it outside...

^ What Gruff said! That sheath looks a lot better than my first dozen, hang in there, it'll come. But, even after you do number 100, sometimes stuff just happens and we keep pluggin' along. I love that knife!

"all I was doing was slicing backstrap and it just starting falling apart". LOL, well, everyone knows how tough that backstrap can be..., . I will NEVER understand the mindset of people that buy a fine knife and then abuse it by using it for some other purpose than what it was intended for...

A rental bottle in my area is right around $17.50. For a tank you own it runs me right at $15 for a twenty.

A two burner blown with TC and PID will make a forge you can forge, forge weld and heat treat to within 5* +/-.

Unfortunately, too many look down their noses at 1080/1084, as they do not want to be seen as, "beginners using a beginners steel". A properly designed, treated and tempered blade made from this "beginner's steel" will make an excellent knife that can hold it's own against other more exotic...
